FMP: Idea generation

I had spent quite some time generating ideas and starting the testing process, before deciding to proceed to documenting Digbeth and the two discrete parts of the area.

Happy with my decision, I was already to make a schedule and then COVID19 struck, rendering any unnecessary trips outside the home a major risk to public health. So I had to think of something else.
Less than a week into the nationwide lockdown, I was watching my son struggle with the reality of forced confinement and I decided to use this as the basis for my FMP idea. I would take a series of photographs over a period of time and document how we spend our time in the house.
Documenting the same things or similar things over and again, inspired by Masahisa Fukase and Anton Kosters.

Stephen Shore documented banal items that created an intriguing series, when placed in the context of a road trip.

As well as documenting buildings and swimming pools, Ruscha was an innovator in how the ....Sunset Strip series was presented - an accordion fold-out book depicting the buildings on each side of the street.
My final idea, therefore, is a documentary series that will be taken within my home. Full details will be drawn up in my project proposal.
